Patient Care Emphasis
Pediatric surgery with focus on pediatric solid tumors, necrotizing enterocolitis, pediatric burns, and minimally invasive surgery.

Education
Dr. Chung received his B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, in 1988.

Postgraduate Training
Dr. Chung completed his internship and residency in Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Fellowship (T32) at the Shriners Burns Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Children's Hospital Medical Center at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, as well as an NIH Fellowship (T32) at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Chung serves as Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Research
The endocrine regulation of neuroblastoma, and reactive oxidative stress-induced intestinal epithelial cell injury.
