Perioperative Patient Care Center

The core mission of the Perioperative Learning Center (PLC) is to support the educational needs of all staff within Perioperative Services. The PLC will provide educational resources and expertise, professional development opportunities resulting in informed, well-trained health care practitioners.  It will provide service and teaching to support its mission.   

• The first mission, service, is to support our most valuable assets:  the healthcare professionals who have chosen Vanderbilt University Medical Center for their vocation.
•  The second mission, teaching, is to support all employees in their professional development in educational scholarship.  This is accomplished by skill development as well as providing the tools for successful mission accomplishment.

• Through our missions of service and teaching, our goal is to ensure that our group of healthcare providers are best equipped to deliver safe patient care.
