Welcome

Project Opportunity is a dynamic employment program that provides quality human resources for high-turnover positions at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).  The program’s goal is to successfully transition young adults with developmental disabilities from high school into the workplace while concurrently filling business needs within VUMC. The program is currently funded through a collaboration among Vocational Rehabilitation, Council on Development Disabilities and the State Department of Special Education and Williamson County Schools.

PROGRAM FEATURES:
Upon admission into the program, Project Opportunity interns receive an extensive package of services including:

·       Individualized job readiness training in realistic, inclusive settings;
·       Job coaching, as needed, throughout training and employment;
·       Individualized career planning and job search;
·       Assistance with resume writing and the application process;
·       Follow-along and career enhancement services extending throughout the individual’s employment at VUMC;
