Dr.Gaines has been a member of the faculty since 1987. He recently initiated behavioral medicine-clinical psychology services for VUMC programs in surgical weight loss and inflammatory bowel disease. He is interested in self regulatory processes, particularly reasoning, underlying adaptation to illness and surgical weight loss.
