Dr. Shelton has been on the faculty of the Department since 1985. His research interest is in mood disorders, and he established the Mood Disorders Research Program at Vanderbilt. Active research studies range from the basic neuronal basis of mood disorders, through treatment research (including both psychotherapy and medication), to primary prevention studies.
