BLS - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

 
Course Description:
  • This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED
  • Includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques, including relief in choking
  • Teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both in-and out-of-hospital settings
Audience:
  • Licensed healthcare providers (MDs, RNs, LPNs, Respiratory Therapists, Occupational Therapists, etc.)

  • Practice-while-watching video
  • Written examination
  • Skills evaluations
Course Length
  • FYI…The initial and renewal courses are nearly identical and therefore we will only be offering 1 course to staff.  The BLS for Healthcare Providers course will be open to all licensed personnel required to complete BLS regardless of whether they are taking for the first time or renewing.
  •  This course is scheduled to last 3.5 hours. 
  • *New BLS Challenge option*—1 hour (testing only--you must come prepared)

  • Completion card issued, good for 2 years
