A note from your President:

The H. William Scott Jr. Society was founded 40 years ago not only to honor Dr. Scott and his many contributions to research, education and clinical surgery, but also to recognize those who have trained at Vanderbilt and embraced the tradition of excellence to which Dr. Scott called us.

Society News

Gretchen C. Edwards, VUSM Class of 2015, receives the H. William Scott, Jr. Prize in Surgery.  It is given yearly to the student entering into a general surgical residency program who exemplifies the qualities of leadership, performance, discipline and character, reflecting the ideal surgeon.

3rd Annual Scott Society Lecture date set for February 13, 2015 with Dr. James O'Neill.

Date and location set for the 2014 ACS Scott Society Reception in San Francisco.

42nd Scott Society member induction takes place June 13, 2014.
