Stephen Mendenhall, B.S.

Stephen Mendenhall completed his undergraduate education at Indiana University Bloomington, with high distinction and honors in May 2010, receiving a BS in Biochemistry, a BS in Biology, and a minor in Mathematics. He has participated in two chemistry related research projects at Indiana University, one in Analytical Chemistry and the other in Organic Chemistry. His current research goal is to better understand Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS) by performing a prospective cohort study and using validated outcome measures to assess whether revision and surgical decompression of the lumbar spine improves pain, disability, or quality of life in patients with FBSS resulting from pseudoarthrosis, same-level recurrent persistent stenosis, or adjacent segment disease. Stephen is currently a third year medical student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and is expected to earn his medical degree in 2014.
