Bharat Kilaru completed his undergraduate education at the University of Chicago in June 2011, receiving a BA in Economics and a BA in Biological Sciences. At the University of Chicago, he conducted basic research in the Department of Surgery and translational research in the Department of Neurology, primarily studying mechanisms and outcomes of multiple sclerosis treatments. His current research goal is to better understand outcomes and cost effectiveness of multiple surgical responses to spine disorders. His interests lie in both learning about and developing outcomes registries as a mechanism towards determining the most effective surgical and medical responses for patients undergoing spinal deformities and degenerative spine diseases.
