Application Procedures

Applications are accepted by the Allied Health Programs Office with postmarks between  January 1 and March 31 for admission each academic year.

The application AND all supporting documentation must be delivered to the Allied Health Programs Office in one mailing envelope.


Complete applications MUST include the following:


  1. Application form and non-refundable $50 fee (make check payable to VUMC)
  2. Official post-secondary transcripts OR official translations in envelope(s) sealed by the institution(s) or translating agency
  3. Resume including all education, work and community services experiences
  4. Written documentation that three (3) references were requested and/or completed using the electronic reference survey. 
  5. Personal Essay stating the applicant's personal desire for pursuing a career in sonography


Any applications received with a postmark after March 31 will be processed only on an availability basis. Interviews will be scheduled with qualified applicants each year after the deadline listed.
