Program Accreditation

Accreditation

The VUMC School of DMS is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This accreditation is granted only after recommendation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) based on a programmatic review and site visit. Recognition by CAAHEP qualifies the School's graduates for eligibility to apply for and take the following certification exams for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS):

  • Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation
  • Abdominal Sonography
  • Obstetrical and Gynecological Sonography
  • Neurosonology
