Providers and Medical Students (Including Visiting Staff)

Vanderbilt is moving toward a single sign-on to systems using the VUnet ID.  Please click on the link below to activate your VUnetID and to create your e-password:

Create an e-Password:  This link will activate your VUnetID used  to log onto a clinical workstation and StarPanel.  Currently, you must also activate your User/RACF ID.

 Other Applications Providers Receive Access To:

  • VORS (OR Schedule) - log on with your VUnetID and e-password
  • IMPAX (replaced PACS Web for Radiology imaging) - log on with your VUNet ID and e-password.  If you have been using PACS Web and cannot access IMPAX, please contact the Help Desk at 343-HELP and place a ticket for Radiology to give access.  Tutorials reside on all clinical workstations or you may access training at http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/imaginginformatics.  Click here to view information on how to view PACs from StarPanel.  Please call the Help Desk at 343-HELP (4357) and ask them to contact the Imaging Support team for questions, comments or requests to be trained. 

 Education is provided in multiple ways depending on the role. 

Attending and Faculty, and Mid Level Providers receive a 2-day orientation from the VMG group.  Registration is in the Learning Management System (LMS).  For more information, email newproviderorientation@vanderbilt.edu.

Medical Students receive training prior to the 3rd year of medical school via the Interactive Instructional Design for Educational Application (IIDEA) website.  Click here to log on to IIDEA.

First Year Medical Students need an overview of StarPanel.  Click here to view a training video.

Residents and Fellows receive classroom training upon arrival to Vanderbilt. Below are videos developed to prepare them for their training.


 

Visiting staff, whether providers or students, complete online training tutorials prior to their arrival.  

Visiting Medical Students:

  • StarPanel:  Electronic Medical Record (IE and Safari browsers only)
  • HEO/Wiz:  Computerized Provider Order Entry 
  • Scratch Census:  Create your personal census in HEO/Wiz
  • PAML:  Pre-Admit Medication List (home meds)

 Once you have completed online training, you will need to contact Maribeth Hagan at 438-9905 or via email at maribeth.hagan@vanderbilt.edu to remove a training flag from your user ID. This training flag will prohibit you from seeing live patients in WizOrder/HEO.
