Dr. Merchant's clinical practice encompasses all aspects of Surgical Oncology, with a special interest in gastrointestinal malignancies. His research interests include the identification of molecular markers of colorectal cancer.
Education
Dr. Merchant received his undergraduate degree from New York University and medical degree from State University of New York at Brooklyn.
Postdoctoral Training
Dr. Merchant completed his General Surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Most recently, he was on faculty at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University Medical School. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
