Alexander I. Zaika, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Surgery and Cancer Biology
Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Dr. Zaika has a long-standing interest in the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in tumor development and progression. His laboratory is focused on the p53 protein family and its role in tumorigenesis and chemotherapeutic drug response.

Education
Dr. Zaika received his M.S. degree in Microbiology from the Saint Petersburg University, St. Petersburg, Russia. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology and VNII Genetika, Moscow, Russia.

Post-Doctoral Training
Dr. Zaika completed a post-doctoral training program at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY.
