The Department of Surgery's Research Collaborative begins this Fall at a new location, 7455 MRB IV, with J Mocco, M.D., M.S. leading discussion on "Brain Recovery Following Stroke: Stem Cells to Caffeine" on
Tuesday, September 10, from 5-6 p.m.
Dr. Mocco joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2012. He holds joint appointments as associate professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery and Radiology and Radiological Sciences. He also serves along side Oran S. Aaronson, MD as the Associate Program Director of the Neurosurgery Residency Program. Dr. Mocco's research focuses on cerebro and endovascular neurosurgery.
The Department of Surgery Research Collaborative was developed to provide synergy between the basic sciences and clinical research as a means of enhancing research opportunities within the Section of Surgical Sciences.
