Vanderbilt is one of the largest volume hospitals in the world for treatment of prostate cancer. We have performed over 5,000 radical prostatectomies and more than 2,000 robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgical procedures. We offer cryotherapy, interstitial brachytherapy and state of the art external beam irradiation. We are one of a select number of centers nationally investigating high intensity ultrasound (HIFU).
At Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, some 20 board-certified physicians — including specialists in Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Medical Oncology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, and Psychiatry — work together as a team to provide optimal care to prostate cancer patients.
