Jennifer Barut, PhD(c), RN-BC, is the interim Chief Nursing Officer of Vanderbilt Behavioral Health.  She began her career as an ADN in 2000, and after a brief period in Labor and Delivery, she started working at VBH on the mood disorder unit in 2001. She has oversight of and direct development of nursing education and inter-professional education for all service lines of VBH. Over time, she has developed and disseminated new-hire orientation, annual and ongoing competencies, and served as the Psychiatric Nurse Residency Program Lead.

Jennifer Barut received her associates degree at Columbia State Community College in Columbia, TN, followed by her bachelors and the graduate degree at the University of Phoenix in Arizona. She is currently a PhD(c) in Clinical Nursing Science at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
