Position Summary
 
Medical Assistants contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on their specific role.
 
Types of Positions Available
 
Medical Assistants work primarily in out-patient areas.
Education Requirements
 
High School Graduate (minimum) and hold an active Medical Assistant Certification 
 
Job Experience Requirements
 
Required time in field previous to employment:  0 Months
Licensure Requirements
 
Current Registered/Certified Medical Assistant from the following Vanderbilt endorsed Medical Assistant programs:
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)                                         
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)                     
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)                           
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)                                       
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)       

Other nationally recognized organizations may be considered on an individual basis
