VPH III is a 24 bed adult psychiatric unit that cares for patients diagnosed with mood disorders, including major depression, anxiety disorders, and bipolar disorders, as well as co-morbid personality disorders.
We also have a dedicated number of beds dedicated to the care of geriatric patients. We are a milieu based environment focusing on stabilization through a multidisciplinary approach. Daily, we offer psychoeducational groups focused on improving the lives of patients experiencing disorders of mood including, but not limited to, healthy coping, skills building, relationships, healthy choices, and therapeutic recreational activities.
Our nursing staff includes Registered Nurses, Mental Health Specialists, and a Medical Receptionist. The team on VPH III is the resource expert in the care and treatment of individuals experiencing dual diagnosis disorders. We strive to decrease the stigma attached to mental illness and addiction through community outreach, education, and positive treatment outcomes. Our staff truly care about our patients and consistently go above and beyond to improve our patients experience and to help them feel valued.
