Cardiovascular Progressive Care

I’m Janice Gabbard, MSN, RN.  I am the manager of the Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit located on 5 South of Vanderbilt University Hospital.  I am also the manager of the Cardiovascular Surgical Stepdown unit.

To work in the Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit, our nurses need to be trained in Basic Arrhythmia recognition and maintain ACLS, BLS and PCCN certifications to care for our patient population.

About Us:

Our unit specializes in cardiovascular surgery.  The patients we care for include those who require ventilators, arterial lines, and CVP monitoring.

A typical shift for our nurses is based on a twelve hour shift with direct patient care and working as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.

We pride ourselves on our culture of safety, teamwork, patient satisfaction, and staff satisfaction.
