Vanderbilt Vascular Laboratory prepares fellows to direct a lab

The Vanderbilt Vascular Laboratory performs 4,000 vascular studies on an annual basis and is supported by four full-time and part-time spell out first time (RVTs). In addition, the Vascular Laboratory helps support intraoperative studies and also has been a basis for a substantial amount of ultrasound directed procedures, most notably the placement of inferior vena cava filters at the bedside. During the fellowship, the trainee acquires experience with the non-invasive modalities, as well as the ability to provide interpretation and the skills needed to establish or direct a vascular laboratory.
