The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, offers a one year fellowship in pediatric pathology. The program provides strong curriculum in pediatric surgical pathology, materno-fetal pathology, and pediatric autopsy pathology. There is one fellowship position available each year.
Subspecialty expertise includes breast pathology, gynecologic pathology, genitourinary pathology, pulmonary pathology, soft tissue pathology, hematopathology, neuropathology, muscle pathology, and gastrointestinal pathology. The fellow will also rotate through separate divisions of hematopathology, cytopathology, neuropathology, and forensic pathology. There are more than 5,000 surgical pathology cases, 1,000 materno-fetal cases, and 30 medical pediatric autopsies per year.
