VUMC Communications, Web Development Team
The VUMC Web Team is a sub-unit of VUMC Communications. We report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, Jill Austin. Our mission is to support and guide all Web development in the Medical Center. Our roles include developing policies and procedures (as applied to the Web), to enhance on-line communications, ensure consistent branding, maintain common areas of the VUMC Web site, and assist medical center departments/center/labs/etc. develop Web sites.
In our capacity of departmental support our services range from creating and maintaining Web development software (VUMC SiteBuilder), reviewing commercial Web vendors skills and services, writing RFP’s, reviewing contracts, assist in hiring Web developers, and more.
The VUMC Web Team consists of a manager, applications developer, and two creative Web developers. We work closely with the VUMC Webmaster and Marketing Department to ensure all VUMC sites meet the VUMC Graphic Standards, technical requirements and VUMC Web Standards.
We do not see our role a policemen, but rather a resource for the entire Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
