Current Research Studies

The VVRP is actively involved in each stage of the vaccine development process, for infectious diseases that affect not only the United States, but the rest of the globe.  We continue to work with the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and vaccine manufacturers to ensure that vaccines are effective and safe.

Current studies include:

  • Safety and Immunogenicity of a Novel Malaria Vaccine
  • Safety and Immunogenicity of Novel Swine Influenza (H1N1) Vaccines
  • Safety of an Adolescent Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Vaccine
  • Surveillance for MRSA Colonization in Athletes, Pregnant Women, and Newborns
  • Efficacy of a Novel Staphylococcal Vaccine in Patients Undergoing Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Surveillance for Respiratory and Diarrheal Disease in Young Children
  • Safety and Immunogenicity of a Novel Avian Influenza (H5N1) Vaccine
