Laura joined VUMC in 2011 as the Director of Learning Operations, and as part of that role, oversees the operation of the VLA. In 2012, Laura changed the department name to Workforce Performance Operations reflecting the group’s emphasis on promoting measurable instructional performance outcomes. In addition to team development, Laura’s priority is on expanding her department’s capacity to offer the highest level of organizational support in areas related to instructional technologies, evaluation, measurement, and instructional design best practices. In her spare time, Laura can be found working with community animal welfare organizations, spending quality time with her husband and their six rescue pets, and traveling domestically and abroad.
Associate Director, Workforce Performance Operations
Anne Marie joined Vanderbilt in 2009 to implement The Learning Exchange, the first full-scale learning management system for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her role today is to ensure effective operations of the department and to manage integration of WPO offerings with other Vanderbilt departments. “Technology doesn’t need to be hard,” she says. Outside of work, Anne Marie enjoys yoga and listening to live music.
Senior Instructional Designer, Workforce Performance Operations
LaVon makes sensory impact with her work! As a highly experienced instructional and graphic designer, LaVon develops all of WPO’s sophisticated visuals, instructional templates, and learning deliverables. (Check out her “learning paths” design in our newsletter banner). LaVon also helps educational support professionals understand how to use technology and how to design to enhance instructional impact and visual communication for all types of training modalities. In her free time, LaVon can be found open water diving, spending time with family in Florida, painting, and hanging out with her cat named 2k.
Administrator, Learning Systems, Workforce Performance Operations
If you frequently create training in the Learning Exchange, you have probably communicated with Adrianne at least once. She acts as the primary contact for Learning Exchange questions and consults with internal stakeholders to identify the most effective ways to use the LMS to support training initiatives. Her focus during the transition process to the new Absorb LMS will be to organize historical training data, document new system features for training purposes, and act as support lead after the new system goes live. In her spare time, Adrianne enjoys baking, singing karaoke, and playing trivia. A former Jeopardy! contestant, Adrianne loves solving puzzles and is always looking for a new challenge.
Instructional Designer, Workforce Performance Operations
Megan’s work with WPO started when she was a Peabody College Human Resources Development graduate student during an independent study focused on learning technology. She joined the WPO team full time in December 2012 as an Instructional Design Consultant. Megan’s work involves creating robust organizational learning plans that result in measurable performance improvement in the workplace. Outside of the office, Megan enjoys exploring Nashville and serving as a youth group advisor.
Workforce Performance Analyst, Workforce Performance Operations
Amanda started working with WPO as the LMS graduate intern in 2012. After graduating from Peabody College with her M.Ed. in Organizational Leadership, she joined WPO as a Performance Analyst, specializing in instructional evaluation and measurement. In this role, Amanda works with multiple levels of stakeholders to help them define evaluation processes that align their training with primary business goals. Later this year, Amanda will be facilitating workshops to educate stakeholders on evaluation tools and techniques they can implement to show the value of their training programs. Away from work, Amanda enjoys watching professional football, hanging out in East Nashville, and participating in various book clubs around the city.
Administrative Assistant II, Workforce Performance Operations
Sarah is our liaison at large, helping to facilitate departmental objectives by providing a high level of organization to each of the projects we work on. She is our marketing communications manager, creating content for our newsletter and website, and is responsible for a variety of tasks including budget review, systems administration, operational oversight in the MCN Learning Center ballroom, and support for Vanderbilt Leadership Academy events. Outside of work, Sarah loves visiting her family’s cottage along Lake Michigan, camping at Tennessee State Parks, and polishing the Emmy Award she won for production supervision on FOX’s The Simpsons.
Coordinator, Vanderbilt Leadership Academy
As the Coordinator for the Vanderbilt Leadership Academy, Stacey helps cultivate a diverse and inclusive experience for a wide variety of leaders throughout the Vanderbilt institution. She organizes events that foster professional growth and networking, and that showcase event spaces across the Vanderbilt campus, including the Blair School of Music, Jean and Alexander Heard Library, and The Commons. When she’s not recruiting guest speakers, scouting venues, and managing budgets, Stacey enjoys creative activities like sewing and doing art projects with her four children, as well as yoga and cooking with her husband.
Senior Instructional Project Consultant, Workforce Performance Operations
Vicki is the newest addition to our team, joining us at the beginning of July 2013. She was brought aboard to provide leadership in the coordination and execution of training for new instructional technology tools and department learning initiatives. She will design training in support of large and small scale projects and product/process implementations. Married with two daughters, Vicki takes pride in her eco-friendly Nissan Leaf and enjoys performing stand-up comedy.
