Reference Range: up to 1 day: 0.2-6.0 mg/dL, 1-2 days: 0.2-7.0 mg/dL, 2-5 days: 0.2-12.0 mg/dL, 5-30 days: 0.2-10.5 mg/dL, 30 days-up: 0.2-1.2 mg/dL
Tube Type: Light green PST (Lithium Heparin with gel) tube - 4.5 mL
Specimen: Plasma
Alternate Specimen: Red top tube - 5 mL
Pediatric Requirements: 2 microtainers
Volume: 2 mL plasma
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL plasma
Temperature: Separate within one hour and store/ship at ambient temperature until delivery
Stability: < 3 days at 2 - 8ºC; 6 months at -20ºC
Reasons for Rejection: Hemolysis; improper collection

Significance: STAT: 1 hour; ROUTINE: 2 hours after receiving in lab
Special Instructions: Protect from light - If exchange specimen indicate "PRE" or "POST"
