Reasons for Rejection: Non sterile or leaking container. Excessive delay in transport.
Days Performed: Monday - Friday
Times Performed: Once per day (batched)
TAT: 2-5 days
Significance: Stain is not sensitive enough to rule out Histoplasma. Culture should be requested in addition to stain.
Special Instructions: For Histoplasma only.
