Temperature: Room temperature
Stability: Send to lab immediately
Reasons for Rejection: Non sterile or leaking container. Excessive delay in transport.
Days Performed: Daily
TAT: 2-5 days
Special Instructions: Culture for Salmonella, Shigella, Yersinia, Campylobacter, E. coli O157. If surveillance culture is needed, indicate the organism (such as VRE). There will be separate charges for organism identification and susceptibility testing when appropriate.
