Reference Range: Negative for yeast and mold

Temperature: Room temperature
Stability: Send to lab immediately
Reasons for Rejection: Leaking container. Excessive delay in transport.
Days Performed: Daily
TAT: 4 weeks for negative culture, varies for positive culture.
Special Instructions: There will be separate charges for organism identification and susceptibility testing when appropriate. Susceptibility testing for molds or yeast are not done routinely; when requested, susceptibility tests are sent to a reference laboratory.
