Significance: This test is designed to detect hCG present in early pregnancy. False negative results may be seen in women >10 weeks pregnant because not all hCG present in pregnancy urine are detected by this test. If pregnancy is still suspected, measure hCG in serum. False negative results may occur in dilute urine. If pregnancy is still suspected, a first morning specimen collected 48 hours later or a serum beta hCG test is recommended.
Special Instructions: First morning specimen preferred.
