BRAF (V600E) MUTATION (V6A)
: Molecular Diagnostics
: V6A, BRAF, V600E
: Allele Specific Detection of mutation V600E by PCR and evaluated by capillary electrophoresis; Laboratory Developed Test
: Paraffin embedded tissue: block, 5-10 unstained slides or 5 curls (NOTE: slides and curls 10micron thick with accompanying before and after cut H & E slides)
: 5 unstained 10 micron slides or 10 unstained 5 micron slides (2 sections per slides)
: Room temperature
: Paraffin block: indefinitely
Reasons for Rejection
: Insufficient tumor in tissue; Decalcified tissue - (May or may not yield interpretable results and is dependent on the degree of fixation during processing. An alternate tissue specimen is suggested if available.)
: Once a week - variable days
: 10 days
: DNA Analysis of Mutation V600E (allele specific PCR)
