The John L. Sawyers Award
The John L. Sawyers Award was established by the Chief
Residents of 1993 in honor of John
L. Sawyers, M.D., Foshee Distinguished Professor of
Surgery, Emeritus. This award is granted for outstanding
contributions to surgical education by a member of the
surgical faculty at Vanderbilt University School of
Medicine.
