His clinical interests presently are pituitary tumors and radiosurgery of brain tumors and vascular malformations.

Dr. Oran Aaronson is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery. His clinical interests include surgery of the spine with emphasis on minimally invasive techniques, degenerative spinal disorders, complex spinal reconstruction and spinal tumors.
Michael J. Ayad, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Michael Ayad is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery and holds a secondary appointment as Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. His clinical interests include cerebrovascular and endovascular surgery, cerebral angiography, trigeminal neuralgia, cerebral ischemia, and traumatic brain injury.

Dr. Paul Boone is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery. His clinical interest is in neurosurgical treatment of disorders of the spinal column and spinal cord. This includes endoscopic spinal surgery and spinal reconstructive surgery.
Joseph S. Cheng, M.D.
Dr. Joseph Cheng is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery. He is the Director of Spine Surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center. His clinical interest is in all aspects of spinal surgery, with an emphasis on complex spinal reconstruction and instrumentation.
Kurt M. Eichholz, M.D.
Dr. Kurt Eichholz is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery. His clinical interests include surgical intervention on the spinal column to treat degenerative disease and tumors, with emphasis on the application of minimally invasive techniques including microendoscopic approaches for disc herniations, decompression of stenosis, fusions with instrumentation, and tumor resection.

Dr. Peter Konrad is Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery and Biomedical Engineering. He is Director of Functional Neurosurgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center. His clinical interests are in all areas of functional neurosurgery, with special emphasis on the surgical treatment of movement disorders (including Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia and spasticity), epilepsy and medically refractory pain.
Robert Alan Mericle, M.D.
Dr. Robert Mericle is Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery. He is the Director of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center. His clinical interest is in all aspects of Neurovascular Surgery and Brain Tumor Surgery, including both open and minimally invasive surgery for Intracranial Aneurysms, AVMs, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Carotid Stenosis, Spinal AVMs, and Skull Base Surgery.
Joseph S. Neimat, M.D., M.S.
Dr. Joseph Neimat is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His clinical interests are in all areas of functional neurosurgery, with special emphasis on the surgical treatment of movement disorders (including Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia), epilepsy, and some forms of neuropathic pain. He also has expertise in the use of neuromodulation for treatment of medically refractory psychiatric illness such as major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and Tourette's syndrome.

Dr. Matthew Pearson is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery. His clinical interest is pediatric neurosurgery, with special interest in intracranial processes including brain tumors, epilepsy, and movement disorders.

Dr. Reid Thompson is Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery. He is the Director of Neurosurgical Oncology at Vanderbilt Medical Center. His clinical interests are in all aspects of neurovascular surgery and brain tumor surgery, including skull base surgery.
