The Vanderbilt Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides comprehensive services in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of congenital, developmental, and acquired deformities and diseases of the oral cavity, jaws, and facial region.
Vanderbilt Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is also committed to training oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The 2006-2007 academic year begins the 33rd year of the residency training program at Vanderbilt.

- Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery)
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Facial trauma/injuries
- Secondary correction of cleft lip/palate deformities
- Jaw cysts and tumors
- Jaw and face reconstruction following tumor surgery or trauma including dental implant placement
- Management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
