Education Dr. Parikh performed his undergraduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University and received the B.A. with Honors. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Postdoctoral Training Dr. Parikh completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Research: . At Vanderbilt Dr. Parikh continues his clinical and translational research interests in biologic and combination therapies including anti-angiogenic strategies in the management of gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Alexander A. Parikh is board certified by the American Board of Surgery (General Surgery) and the Society of Surgical Oncology. His clinical interests focus on cancers of the GI and biliary tract including the esophagus, stomach, liver (primary and metastatic lesions), pancreas, small intestine, colon and rectum.
