Surgical Residency at Vanderbilt

R. Daniel Beauchamp, M.D.
John Clinton Foshee Distinguished Professor of Surgery
Chairman, Vanderbilt Section of Surgical Sciences
Surgeon-in-Chief, Vanderbilt University Hospital

The following web pages describe the Surgical Postdoctoral Educational Programs at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and its associated hospitals in Nashville. These programs include the concept and role of basic surgical education in the graduate education of all surgeons and its relationship to more advanced training in General Surgery and the other Surgical Specialties. A description of each surgical specialty program is included.

Vanderbilt Medical Center and its associated hospitals maintain a commitment to service to patients, education, and research. We welcome candidates for our Surgical Residency who have a similar dedication and who are motivated to acquire the knowledge and skills which will enable them to achieve excellence in the care of surgical patients and, in addition, to make contributions of their own to the field of surgery and surgical care.
