Dr. Joseph C. Ross, associate vice chancellor for health affairs, emeritus, received his medical degree from Vanderbilt in 1954. He returned to help lead Vanderbilt University Medical Center for some 20 years, and among many of his accomplishments included establishing full-time faculty in emergency medicine.
