Henry William Scott Jr., M.D., received his medical degree from Harvard University Medical School with highest honors in 1941. After his residency, he went to Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore in 1946 as chief resident in surgery, and a year later was appointed to the faculty of the university's School of Medicine.
