Dr. Wallace Billington (1880-1962) was Nashville's first orthopedic surgeon. He attended Vanderbilt University, two years in academic study and four years in the School of Medicine, graduating in 1906. Billington taught orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt in 1911, continuing to teach as lecturer, adjunct professor, and professor until his retirement in 1950, when he became professor emeritus.
