take-a-panel: teams & assignments

Take-A-Panel Assignment: This is an individual assignment. Locate a blank Panel in the space. First, write your name in the top right hand corner of your pane and then respond to the assignment below from your individual perspective. Write what you know, think, feel, and see. Use words, colors, diagrams and pictures to represent your ideas in a 'stand alone' form that anyone could view and understand as a response to this assignment.

This is a current state assignment. You should answer each of the questions below from your current role and perspective as an individual and representative of your organization. This assignment is an opportunity to help level other participants about what you, and your organization, are currently focused on (rebuilding after Katrina, serving displaced people …). We also want to know what you and your organization currently think about Health Information Exchange (HIE). Take a few moments to read through and contemplate the following questions.

• Are you or your organization still recovering from Katrina (rebuilding, serving displaced
citizens…)? If so, what should others know about your efforts to give them context for
priority and pace you are focusing on HIE work?
• Describe the top five needs your organization is currently facing?
• How can Health Information Exchange (HIE) impact the needs you defined above?
• Does additional benefit, or synergy, exist for Louisiana citizens and your organization
beyond addressing current needs? If so, what are the benefits?
• What are you, or your organization, prepared to contribute to the
success of the HIE contract (people, roles, facilities, etc)?
• Define the list of key questions you need to answer, or put a plan
in place to answer, over the next two days to actively engage in
  the HIE contract.

You have 30 minutes to complete the above activity. At the end of that time, you will be given instructions for the next assignment.

share-a-panel

Share-a-Panel Assignment: When everyone in your group has finished their panel (or the time for the exercise is over), present your panels, one at a time, to the other people in your team area/on your team list.

Ask questions for clarification only at this time. Later you will have a chance to discuss the ideas presented.

Place a check mark on your panel beside your name after you have presented it to your team.

Continue the process until everyone in your group has presented their panel.

You have a total of 40 minutes in which to present all the panels in your group (3-4 minutes per panel). When all of your team members have finished presenting their panels, you will be given further instructions.

synthesis

Synthesis Assignment: In your group, discuss the ideas that were presented from your panels in the last assignment. Use the blank WorkWall in your team’s breakout area to capture your ideas related to the following questions:
• Where do your priorities align with other members of your group?
• Where do your priorities differ?
• Where are there gaps or other possible issues?

After completing the above portion of the assignment, please spend 15 minutes preparing a report (approximately 5 minutes long) to be presented to the group as a whole. Use the Hypertiles to prepare your presentation. Write big and feel free to use colors, diagrams, or models to bring your work to life. Decide how you are going to present your report, i.e., one presenter or multiple presenters, etc.

At the end of 30 minutes total, you will receive a signal to return to the Radiant Room for reports.
