and biomedical informatics
professionals to create new
interactions between

process and technology in the
healthcare setting; and
(2) combine
these strengths with
an expertise in organizational change
to rapidly and
effectively deploy new approaches.

Vanderbilt is home to world-class capabilities in medicine/care delivery,
nursing, medical training, biomedical informatics, change management,
learning processes, law, business, engineering and technology/start-up
incubation.

· Suite of informatics-enabled tools (electronic patient chart,
physician
order entry and decision support, evidence-based guidelines) with
adoption rates that are among the highest in the world
· VUMC developed and implemented an electronic patient chart across
the medical center in under a year for less than $500K.
