Vanderbilt International Scholar Program
The Vanderbilt International Scholar Program (VISP) is designed to recruit outstanding international students into Vanderbilt’s Biomedical Research programs and support them throughout their studies. VISP is one of the University’s many programs that are a part of Chancellor Nicholas Zeppos’s initiative to increase internationalization on campus.
Currently, three programs are run under the umbrella of the Vanderbilt International Scholar Program. International students applying for five specific PhD programs will be considered by VISP for support of their graduate studies at Vanderbilt University. International undergraduate students considering careers in biomedical research and looking for additional research experience can apply for the Vanderbilt International Summer Research Academy (VISRA). We offer two sections of VISRA – a larger program during the traditional American summer and a smaller section in January and February for those students who live in the Southern Hemisphere and cannot attend during the American summer. Vanderbilt Medical Center Primary Investigators can apply for assistance to bring a foreign-enrolled graduate student to Vanderbilt as part of an ongoing research collaboration through our Short Term Visit program. For more information about this, please click on the link to your left.
