VISP Funding

Vanderbilt’s Biomedical research programs are committed to supporting graduate student training.  One way that this is done is through tuition and stipend support.  Each VISP scholar will receive full tuition and stipend support from VISP for at least the first 2 years of the graduate training, as long as they maintain good academic standing.  After the second year, students will receive funding from their mentor, academic department, VISP or a combination of sources.  VISP scholars will follow the curriculum of the program that they are admitted to, but, as a condition of the VISP scholarship, they may be expected to participate in programs that are specifically designed for VISP scholars.

Financial support includes full tuition, a stipend (currently set as $26,500/year), student fees and health insurance.  VISP scholars will also receive financial assistance with the cost of the initial VISA application to come to the US and relocation to Nashville.  The exact amount of this additional support will vary for each scholar.
