Research Technician II Position available in the Gould laboratory at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Full-time Research Technician to assist in yeast proteomics-related projects:

Principal Rsponsibilities:

- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot a highly sophisticated mass spectrometer; analyze samples on the instrument
- Record, process, interpret, and communicate data/results from the mass spectrometer.
- Manage and maintain mass spectrometric computer dataset
- Construction, maintenance, and distribution of yeast strains.
- Basic biochemistry and molecular biology bench work.
- Assist in other laboratory and research functions as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of science such as biology, chemistry or molecular biology and at least one year of related research experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis in Word and Excel) and ability to read and follow technical manuals.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, self-motivated.

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Gould laboratory at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. 

The Gould lab investigates mechanisms of cell cycle control, proteomics of fission yeast, and the role of ubiquitination in pre-mRNA splicing.  A postdoctoral project will involve cutting edge approaches in proteomics/mass spectrometry and live cell imaging, as well as traditional yeast genetics. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and technicians and should have a background in biochemistry and/or yeast genetics. This position is funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and includes an attractive benefits package.
