    H. William Scott, Jr. Society 6th Annual Lecture

The H. William Scott, Jr. Scott Society was formed in 1972 by his former residents to honor Dr. Scott as well as recognize those who have trained at Vanderbilt and embrace Dr. Scott’s tradition of excellence. Under Dr. Scott’s leadership, the Vanderbilt Department of Surgery became renown throughout the world for its clinical excellence, education and research.  Started in 2012, this lectureship is supported by the Scott Society and is designed to foster a deeper understanding of surgical history amongst students, house staff, faculty and the community. It is our pleasure to welcome Dr. Fred Arthur Weaver, Professor of Clinical Surgery Chief, Division of Vascular Surgery & Endovascular Therapy Co-Director, USC Cardio Vascular Thoracic Institute Chief, Vascular Surgery, Keck Hospital of USC. The title of his lecture is “Aortic Endovascular Repair, A Case Study in Creative Destruction.”
