The kidney injury core provides the  ability to test the effect of  toxin or ischemic insults on nephron injury and recovery in genetic mouse models . Acute tubular injury will be induced by the proximal tubule toxin, mercuric chloride or by induction of unilateral or bilateral ischemia/reperfusion injury.
