Recruiting Mothers and Children for Stress Study

The Stress and Coping Lab at Vanderbilt is doing a study about how mothers and their children communicate about stress, coping and emotions as well as how they solve problems together.

The study seeks mothers who have at least one child between the ages of 9 and 15 who would be willing to participate. Interested mothers will be interviewed over the phone for approximately 30-45 minutes to determine whether they are eligible.

Eligible mothers will be invited to come to our lab on the Peabody campus with one eligible child to complete questionnaires and in-person interviews and participate in two videotaped interactions where they will discuss a recent stressful experience and solve a puzzle together. Mothers will also be asked to complete some additional surveys before coming in to our lab.
