Benign Urologic Diseases Retreat, Tuesday, June 21, and Wednesday, June 22

Benign prostatic hyperplasia and lower urinary tract symptoms are common benign conditions that are strongly associated with obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. This retreat aims to bring together researchers in these areas to discuss common interests, pathways and methods to approach these comorbidities as parts of a symptomatic syndrome.

The keynote address,  "Cholesterol and the Prostate," is by Michael Freeman, M.D., director of Basic Urologic Research at Children’s Hospital Boston, and professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School.

The retreat runs Tuesday, June 21, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, June 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Life Center Ballroom.
