NIH limited submission funding opportunities: Shared Instrumentation Grant program

The NCRR Shared Instrument Grant (SIG) program encourages applications from groups of NIH-supported investigators to purchase or upgrade a single item of expensive, specialized, commercially available instrumentation or an integrated system that costs at least $100,000.

The maximum award is $600,000. Types of instruments supported include confocal and electron microscopes, biomedical imagers, mass spectrometers, DNA sequencers, biosensors, cell-sorters, X-ray diffraction systems and NMR spectrometers among others.

Investigators intending to apply to the S10 Shared Instrumentation program should submit an internal proposal to the VUMC Office of Research for review by the VUMC Institutional Shared Resource Oversight Committee (ISROC). The ISROC will resolve any conflicts between potentially overlapping proposals and recommend eligibility for School of Medicine (SOM) matching funds.

Note: An internal proposal is required for projects that will request School of Medicine matching funds. Proposals submitted on behalf of or in collaboration with a VUMC core facility or shared resource will be prioritized for VUSM matching funds.

To submit an internal proposal, please click on the link to the VUMC SIG Internal Proposal Form below and complete all fields. Be sure to scroll down to click "submit" once all information has been entered or uploaded. You will be contacted if more information is needed.
