Nashville Refugee Study to be presentation topic, Friday, March 1
The Nashville Refugee Health Study will be the topic of a presentation from 8:30 to 10 a.m., Friday, March 1, at the Coleman Community Center, 384 Thompson Lane.
The presenters will be Laurel Lunn, Ph.D. student at Peabody College and Marielle Lovecchio, Community Development Director for the Center for Refugees and Immigrants of Tennessee. They will share the design and data collection from the Nashville Refugee study.
Topics are planned to include:
- The targeted population of the survey, which includes Somali and Iraqi refugees living in Nashville
- Information regarding health status, psychosocial factors, and experiences with health services within Nashville’s refugee population
- Preliminary data collected from over 100 Somali refugees
